'Tis The Season

As lots of assistants have commented (and Carol, too, I believe), since France has no holiday between Halloween (not that it's really even a "holiday") and Christmas, there is no unspoken rule about waiting until after Thanksgiving to start with the Christmasy decorations. Slowly but surely, lights and garlands and lighted garlands have been going up on the pedestrian streets of Centre Ville. It's already very pretty, despite the fact that nothing has been illuminated yet. I think that happens at the end of the month when the "official" festivities, including the famous Marché de Noël (Christmas Market), begin. The colors and sparkles add a welcome relief to the otherwise recently very grey, dreary and wet days.
