I spent the weekend in London with two English assistant-friends from last year in Metz, plus a French friend we met there. We were lovingly hosted by another French friend of mine who is now a French assistant in London. It was a great weekend of
lots of catching up, story-telling, laughing and fun. We had unexpectedly great weather, which just made everything even better. We spent three days walking all over the city, eating good food (fish and chips! thai! scones!) and seeing the sights. We didn't go into any of the places (£16 for Westminster Abbey, no thank you!) but just getting a better feel for the layout of the city was really nice. Plus, SUN!
Buckingham Palace - the Queen was home!
Westminster Abbey
Big Ben is the name of the bell in the Westminster Clock Tower
Parliament - not blown up on the 5th of November by Guy Fawkes
The River Thames and the London Eye
The Tower of London
Tower Bridge
Saint Paul's Cathedral - no bird lady, though...
signs of spring in Camden!
