Cherry Jam

Kids love to give things, especially to their teachers, I think. While I don't get kid-presents all the time, my intake has gone up quite a bit in the past several weeks. Be it drawings, cardboard cut-out animals, pictures of horses ripped from a magazine, a tiny porcelain cat figurine, or sticky candy pulled from a pocket, it's always sweet.

Thursday morning, Léa, a third-grader of whom I'm particularly fond due to her always-upbeat personality and pleasure in learning (and whom I wrote about last year HERE), came up to me as the kids were taking off their coats and getting ready to come to my class. With a big smile and giggles, she presented me with a miniature jar of cherry jam that she had made the previous day.

I know what I'll be having on my tartines this weekend!
